After only a few months in existence, Social Experiment Thursdays at Octapus Lounge is already regarded as one of the only spots in Toronto for music lovers to get their weekly fix of classic urban sounds from all eras.
Anchored by 2009 Redbull 3Style Toronto Champion DJ Mensa, Social Experiment is a musical journey, cohesively connecting the dots between the boom-bap hip-hop, classic R’n'B, ol’ time reggae, boogie and g-funk, jackin’ house, Baltimore club, and beyond. For the sake of bringing good music to light, no stone is left unturned. No genre is considered taboo.
Naturally, such a wide range of musical tastes caters to a wide range of party goers: from the crate diggers to surface scratchers, pop lockers to bottle poppers, devout attendees, and those unfaithful to their usual weekend rituals.
